Players compete to be the last wizard left in a maze that they build as they play. Each player has a slightly asymmetrical deck of cards that represent their spells that they can cast to add hedges, alter how they move and manipulate existing hedges. The last player to have a wizard in the maze is the winner.

Northwest Pinball & Arcade Show

Emerald City Comicon in conjunction with the Northwest Pinball & Arcade Show is pleased to bring you a classic arcade at ECCC 2022! The arcade will be available from opening until 10:00 pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and until 4:30 pm on Sunday. Full-sized pinball and arcade games will be set to free-play and are available to all ECCC attendees, from newer games to some '80s classics. If you enjoy the arcade, check out the 2023 Northwest Pinball & Arcade Show on June 2nd-4th, 2023 at the Greater Tacoma Convention & Trade Center. The show is a volunteer-run nonprofit event which will have hundreds of games on free-play along with seminars, tournaments, artists, prizes and more.

Artemis Space Bridge Simulator

[Ballard Room]

Sign up to explore the galaxy! Sail through the stars, go on epic missions and try to survive in the Artemis Space Bridge Simulator. Teams of players will have to work together as Captain, Engineering, Weapons, Helm and other key stations in this networked starship simulation.

Also, participate in the Artemis augmented reality (AR) metagame! Look around the Gaming Area to find additional game information hidden in augmented reality posters to aid your team on your stellar quests.

Sign-ups for each day are expected to fill quickly. Stop by early in the day to ensure you reserve space! Sign-ups for Artemis are located outside of the Ballard room.

Come play unreleased games, and help their creators improve and refine their games throughout the show.

    • Artificial Malevolence is an abstract strategy game of spacial domination. Players assemble digital numbers with tiles and place them on the board to acquire points and hinder opponents.
  • Dragon Bleed! By Trenton Payne/Gilgamesh Games, 2-4 players,15-30 minutes
    • Play as brutish vampire knights or human sorcerers in this simplified deck building board game where the most precious of currencies is Dragon Blood.
  • Panzers of Kataan, by Tony R. Van Liew
    • In this diceless wargame for 2-6 players, players manage resources to try to conquer the island of Kataan, using planes, tanks and infantry.
  • Supreme Command 1942, by Tony R. Van Liew. Two-player wargame ages 8+, 45-90 minutes.
    • Command your armies over land, sea and air, to capture your opponent's headquarters.
  • The Magic Sack,  by D.D. O'Brien, 2-4 Players, 20-30mins
    • Your D&D dice set has been lost in a cursed Bag of Holding and now you must get them all back using only your sense of touch. Find, collect and use other magic items to help you break the curse and win the game!

Blood on the Clocktower

Game to Grow Demo Zone

[Metropolitan Ballroom A]

Game to Grow is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the use of games of all kinds for therapeutic, educational, and community growth. They are most well known for their group services using Dungeons & Dragons and Minecraft to help neurodiverse youth build social confidence, reduce isolation, and form friendships that last. Game to Grow also serves the geek and gamer community through individual counseling provided by therapists who utilize games and gaming culture to meaningfully connect with clients. Additionally, Game to Grow provides training for therapists, educators, and community members in the use of tabletop role-playing games as a tool for growth and created Critical Core, a therapeutic RPG “starter set” designed to make the life-enriching power of play more accessible to new group facilitators and their neurodiverse players.

We’re also excited to be hosting a game demo table! Easy-to-learn and easy to sanitize games will be demoed throughout the convention. A special sign-up for 1.5 hour Critical Core demos will be available twice a day for up to 5 people.

The Tomb of Loki

PNW local game designer Bruce Smith brings his custom “The Tomb of Loki” miniatures game to play with ECCC fans.

In the far wasteland of Aridia lies the tomb of Loki. Six warrior tribes search for the timb to release Lokin and gain the power of “Super Hero of Aridia.” Which warrior tribe will you lead? Wildmen of the Coast, Women Warriors of the Mountains, Warrior Legion of the Desert, Warriors of the Evil Lands, Warriors of Faith, or Warriors of the South? Do you make alliances or adventure on your own? You will face unexpected dangers.Do you dare emter the Tomb of Loki? 

Light roleplaying involved. All ages are welcome - all that’s required is a willingness to have fun!

Dungeons and Dragons Adventurer’s League

Cleric Games returns to the PNW with some awesome Dungeons and Dragons Adventurers League content! A lot of things have changed in our world, and that includes Adventure League. We suggest familiarizing yourself with the updated rules that can be found at https://dnd.wizards.com/ddal_general. We will be running a variety of content for both new and old players, along with our trademark new player games. Featuring new Adventurer’s League content in the Spelljammer setting, and including a Saturday night Epic multi-table Spelljammer event, our DMs are excited to help you create new Emerald City memories.

Classic and Modern RPGs

The Alexandria RPG Library (www.alexandriarpg.com) will have hundreds of source books and modules from scores of tabletop RPG systems, available for you to browse through, or to use to run a session. They will be coordinating GMs to be on hand to introduce you to some of the greatest role playing games of the past 40 years. Learn how to hire a team in Shadowrun, see if you can outwit Friend Computer in Paranoia, or have the arcane ways of THAC0 explained. All experience levels are welcome!

Gamemasters will be on hand to run adventures in Vampire: the Masquerade, Quintom Arcana, Dungeon Crawl Classics, HeroQuest, and more classic and modern game systems.

Sessions will be run on-demand, new events scheduled daily. Registration is located outside of the Ravenna Room.

Pathfinder Society Games

Join members of the Emerald City Lodge, as they lead you through the Pathfinder Society introductory Bounty Pathfinder 2nd Edition adventures. These are simple, short, casual standalone adventures that last up to 2 hours. Longer one-shot adventures will be offered Saturday and Sunday.
