From tabletop to consoles, the gaming area at ECCC is the go-to spot for fans to grab some friends, take a seat and try out a new game or put your skills to the test in video game competition. Whether you are an expert or a novice, there is room for all skill levels!

We are thrilled to bring you demonstrations of some of the best new and soon-to-be-released video, mobile, board, card and roleplaying games from a variety of Pacific Northwest game designers. Demos will rotate every three hours all show long, so plan to visit often to try them all!

Cascadia is a puzzly tile-laying and token-drafting game featuring the habitats and wildlife of the Pacific Northwest.
Players take turns building out their own terrain area and populating it with wildlife. Players must create a diverse and harmonious ecosystem as each animal species has a different spatial preference, and each habitat must be placed to reduce fragmentation and create wildlife corridors. Cascadia involves a unique dual-layer puzzle that progresses over time as more habitats and wildlife are added to each player's individual ecosystem. Players score points by creating the most harmonious spatial arrangements of wildlife, and also by creating the largest contiguous habitat corridors.

Northwest Pinball & Arcade Show (TCC Level 1)

Emerald City Comicon in conjunction with the Northwest Pinball & Arcade Show is pleased to bring you the classic arcade at ECCC 2020. The arcade will be available from opening time until 10:00 pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and until 4:30 pm on Sunday. Full size arcade games will be set to free-play and are available to all ECCC attendees. This is your chance to play some of the best games ever made which range from 1980s classics to the most recent games!

If you enjoy the arcade, check out the Northwest Pinball & Arcade Show on June 5-7 at the Greater Tacoma Convention & Trade Center. The show is a volunteer-run nonprofit event which will have hundreds of games on free-play along with seminars, tournaments, artists, prizes and more. Artemis Space Bridge Simulator (TCC Level 1 - Yakima 2)

Sign up to explore the galaxy! Sail through the stars, go on epic missions and try to survive in the Artemis Space Bridge Simulator. Teams of players will have to work together as Captain, Engineering, Weapons, Helm and other key stations in this networked starship simulation.

Also, participate in the Artemis augmented reality (AR) metagame! Look around the Gaming Area to find additional game information hidden in augmented reality posters to aid your team on your stellar quests.

Hosted by PlaytestNW, we are proud to once again bring unpublished board games to ECCC, giving you a sneak peek into the design and development of next year’s most exciting games – today! Come play unreleased games, and help their creators improve and refine their games throughout the show. PlaytestNW is located next to the ECCC Freeplay Lending Library, near the Skagit floor elevators.

Blood on the Clocktower - (TCC First Level - Yakima 1)

Board Game State Championships (TCC First Level)

ECCC is proud to host the Washington State Championships for the following nine board games:

Catan National Qualifier (TCC First Level)

ECCC is hosting an official Catan US Nationals Qualifier Tournament. The Qualifier Champion will win a guaranteed seat at the 2020 Catan US Nationals Tournament at Origins Game Fair in Columbus, OH, June 2020. The Champion will join the other Qualifier Champions and Catan Studio for a celebratory dinner on Saturday night of Origins. The Catan US National Champion will be sent to the 2020 Catan World Championship in Malta, courtesy of Catan Studio. You must be 18+ and a US Citizen/Permanent Resident to participate.

Doctor Who and the Battle for New Emerald City (TCC First Level)

Play (no experience necessary) the 7th or 11th Doctor Who, Ace & Unit Troops, Daleks, Cybermen, The Master, Lady Morgaine & her Evil Knights and The New Emerald City Militia battle for objectives, each other and many evil surprises await all players. Each game has enough room for 6 players.

Car Wars Classic Tournament (TCC First Level) [Saturday only]

He triggered the rear guns once more. A direct hit! The blue car skidded as the driver lost control – then flipped and caught fire. That would teach him not to tailgate…

Car Wars features the roads of the future where the right of way goes to the biggest guns. Use your armed vehicle to destroy the other players before they destroy you on this massive, triple scale 5’ x 8’ battlefield to earn the privilege of advancing to the final game.

Featuring introductory and advanced adventures, we have plenty of Role Playing Games available to play throughout the show. Visit the our RPG area to sign up for one of our Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, Story Games/Indie RPGs, or browse through our Classic RPG library.

Classic RPGs (TCC Lower Level - Skagit 1)

The Alexandria RPG Library will have over 1000 source books and modules from scores of tabletop RPG systems, available for you browse through, or to use to run a session. They will be coordinating GMs to be on hand to introduce you to some of the greatest role playing games of the past 40 years. Learn how to hire a team in Shadowrun, see if you can outwit Friend Computer in Paranoia, or have the arcane ways of THAC0 explained. All experience levels are welcome!

Gamemasters will be on hand to run adventures in Pugmire, The Fantasy Trip, Star Wars D6, RIFTS, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and more classic game systems.

Registration is located outside of TCC Lower Level Skagit 1, at the Alexandria RPG Library.

Pathfinder 2 / Starfinder (TCC Lower Level)

One-hour Demonstrations - The Pathfinder Society will be running 1-hour demonstration modules to introduce new players to the Pathfinder 2 and Starfinder gaming systems, and run demos of the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game. Six different scenarios for Pathfinder 2 will be run for characters from level 1 – 4. Multiple quest adventures will be offered for Starfinder. Pre-generated characters, pawns, dice and everything else you need will be provided, just bring your imagination.

Additionally, several Scheduled Scenarios will be run:

  • Pathfinder 2 - Absalom Initiation (FRI, 12pm-5pm, SAT 12pm-5pm)
  • Pathfinder 2 - Origin of the Open Road: Origin of the Open Road (SAT 5pm-10pm)

Indie Games On Demand Northwest (TCC Lower Level - Skagit 1)

Indie Games on Demand NW (formerly NGN) is back at ECCC for another year of table-top RPG’s. We’ll be running rolling games at our room in Skagit 1 alongside the Library of Alexandria! Come sign up to play an indie TTRPG with your friends at our game sign-ups table, or check a game out of our games library and run your own game!
