Rock, Paper, Cynic is the award-winning comedy music and webcomic project of lifetime nerd Peter Chiykowski. His original pop-powered comedy mines deep into hearts and minds of nerds, coming up with rare gems of comedy and insight – perhaps a few balrogs too.

The PDX Broadsides

The PDX Broadsides logoThe PDX Broadsides

The PDX Broadsides, a Portland OR pop-folk trio, have been playing music together since 2011, and have become known for their harmonies and clever writing. The Broadsides love things, and as a result many of their songs are about the things they love. Turns out those things are basically nerdy. Their first Kickstarter, for their 4th CD "Trust Issues", funded in 16 hours and finished at 278% of their goal.

The PDX Broadsides have played all around the West Coast at venues large and small. They've done conventions including OryCon (as musical guest of honor), GeekGirlCon, Rose City Comic Con, and GameStorm, or you may have seen them play in shows with The Doubleclicks, Marian Call, or Chamber Band. They have received two nominations for the Pegasus Awards for Excellence in Filk.

Jessica Hebert is a PhD candidate in reproductive biology at Portland State University and performs as Quartermaster Greta for local piratical entertainers PDXYAR. Hollyanna McCollom is the author of the Moon Guide to Portland and builds costumes for cosplay and burlesque. Christian Lipski was Portland's foremost comics journalist and served as a judge for the comics industry's Eisner Awards.

Death*Star is a Nerdcore Hip Hop act from the great Northwest.  MC-3PO, C0splay, and Bill Beats have been rapidly reciting the written word over billowing, bass heavy beats since 2008.  Whether a song about fighting games, angry sandwich construction, or robots gone mad, these rappers put all their heart (and their lungs) into every song.  Interviewed by local podcasters, radio stations, and magazines, you may have even heard them at Penny Arcade Expo.

Well, as part of the musical playlist for the mainstage and the live stream between panels.  Death*Star has played at various conventions like Rose City Comic Con, Nerdapalooza, MagWest, NorwesCon, RadCon, and events like Kracklefest, Red White and Dead Zombie Walk, game store openings, weddings, birthday parties… well, you get the point.  Having completed their 2017 west coast tour they look forward to kicking off their 2018 live show series at ECCC with their fellow nerds all weekend.

Shubzilla & Bill Beats

Shubzilla & Bill Beats

Shubzilla and Bill Beats began working together in 2011. Originally rivals in past Vocalist/Producer Challenges, Shubz and Bill chose to join forces to work together regularly. Starting off with the single "Wonderful World" for "Bill Beats For President Vol.1," the EPs "Dinner And A Movie" and "BOOMERS" have been the exceptional products of their collaboration. They have Emerald City Comic-Con, MAGfest 2018, The Day Jobs Mini-Tour: West Coast Edition under their belts, along with performances at Norwescon, the PAXWest Nerdcore Showcase, and many others. With Shubzilla's frank and aggressive lyrics and Bill Beats' penchant for samples and bass-heavy compositions, they do not disappoint.

Be sure to check out this page again soon! Panels and more musical guests will be announced leading up to ECCC 2018!
