Comics and games have the potential to create passionate engaged communities that few books can match. The approachability, visual complexity, and intertextuality of these mediums can allow educators to approach both politically-charged and personal subjects in a way that encourages understanding and empathy within their students, and partnerships amongst their peers. In this panel, librarians and educators will cover the hows and whys of utilizing comics and games to build thoughtful, engaged communities at your library or school.
