ECCC Fan FAQs

Fan Code of Conduct

We hold our show to a very high standard and work hard to make sure it is a fun, safe and inclusive space for all.  Additionally, ECCC holds its fans to a code of conduct that ensures all fans have a great time and feel comfortable at the show.  Just like genie wishes and fairy godparents, we all need to stick to a few rules, so please read and follow these quick guidelines before we hang out this year.

  1. You must wear your ticket at all times (and around your neck) while at ECCC.
  2. Be nice and have fun! All of your fellow ECCC con-goers are there to have a good time, so be friendly, make a new best bud, give a free hug (with permission) and have a paramount good time! Any behavior that's offensive in public should be kept out of ECCC and in the privacy of your own home.
  3. We don’t want anyone to trip and get hurt from stumbling over your outstretched feet, so grab a chair instead of the floor to rest.
  4. We know there is some really awesome cosplay throughout the show, but please be courteous of the people around you. Make sure you are not blocking walkways and other areas when you are snapping pics of that awesome Master Chief armor. Remember, always ask a cosplayer before taking pictures.
  5. ECCC Staff and Security have the right to ask you to leave ECCC and refuse to refund the cost of your ticket if you are behaving in an inappropriate fashion or seen with a counterfeit ticket.
  6. Naked is not a costume. Please wear appropriate (or at least enough) clothing while attending ECCC.
  7. Please abide by our weapons policy. In the harsh reality of our times, our security staff and local law enforcement officials will treat anything that looks like a real gun as a real gun.
  8. While we don’t want anyone to lose anything. ECCC is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged property, or for injuries sustained during the course of ECCC.
  9. Please do not abuse the convention facilities. This includes putting signs on walls or trash anywhere other than a garbage can, smoking in non-designated smoking areas, amongst a variety of other things. This is our home and we all should respect the space.
  10. Announced events and guests are subject to change and/or cancel without notice. Every effort will be made to announce any changes on the ECCC website, Official Mobile App and social media channels, but sometimes last-minute changes will occur.
  11. Now a word from legal...By purchasing a ticket and in consideration for being admitted to ECCC, the holder consents to being recorded (by audio, visual and/or other means) for exhibition and exploitation by any means in all media now known or hereafter devised worldwide in perpetuity. In other words… ECCC attracts local, national and international press. By attending ECCC, you give your consent to be photographed and appear on camera.
