The 2024 ECCC Indie Games Showcase

The Indie Games Showcase is going to be a fantastic opportunity to discover some hidden gems in the indie gaming scene! Stop by the Gaming Zone on Level 3 of the Summit building to meet talented developers and immerse yourself in the vibrant gaming community of the Pacific Northwest! There will be demos, and plenty of chances to connect with fellow gaming enthusiasts!

Return to the wild world of combining robots in AEGIS: Second Ignition (aka Season 2 or just AEGIS2)! The accessible content-packed tactics game returns with an all-new box of robots and heroes vying for control of Sigaea in all-out robot fighting tournament! Choose a Commander, take their team of five robots into combat and combine them into more powerful forms to defeat your opponents. Choose from dozens of robots across five classes - Assault Evasive Guard Intel and Support - AEGIS! - and duke it out up to six players!

Space Lion: Divide and Conquer is a competitive dueling game for up to 5 players about leading your army against threating forces. While you're fighting abilities are incredible, they are limited, and you must protect all three of your bases at once! Also stop by to play The Massive-Verse Fighting Card Game!

Astrolander is an action-packed PlayStation 5 exclusive local co-op game featuring dramatic cinematics intense action and lush levels. Two players work together to control Haptic and their sidekick Feedback adventure seeking cute robots on a mission to save the MVPs (Most Valuable Programs)! Manipulate and sense the world around you with innovative immersive uses of the DualSense Wireless Controller. Create tidal waves and tornadoes using the touchpad to avoid the wrath of the Cyberquax and Cybermoos  topple dangerous enemies by blowing into the integrated microphone feel lifelike sensations as Cybertrains rumble towards you hide in the seaweed to evade lurking Cybertrackers and whiz around mischievous creatures while exploring action-packed worlds. Play solo or grab a friend for a unique co-op experience where two players join in this thrilling adventure together.

You and your buds just want to chillax in the 90's suburban wasteland, but all kinds of post-apocalyptic crud munchers are trying to bully you around! Time to put them in their place in this dice-puzzling, rogue-like, boss battler.

Stones and Rivers is a thoughtful game of mindful placement. Each player has 14 pieces with two sides, a stone side for blocking and scoring and a river side for sweeping movement and scoring. Will you flip a piece over and reveal a river for you or opponent to use? What piece could you push? Where is the best place to place your stone piece? Balance your pieces to be the first to place 5 stones in your opponent's score area!

You’ve unknowingly brought a REAL MAGIC ITEM to game night: bad news, it’s cursed & we’re all trapped! You and your fellow players are adorable little Saplings scrambling about the forest floor in a competition to Brew 3 Potions. Each Potion requires ingredients, which you will collect from beneath the Tree and by stealing from other players' Stashes. But watch out! Berrybombs are hidden away in people's Stashes that will shake up the game! Sapling Scramble is for 2-4 players, ages 6+, and with game times of 15-20 minutes.

Barnyard Zombies is a rummy style board game about herding zombie livestock. The premise of the game is that mad cow mutated into mad sheep, mad pig and eventually the dreaded mad chicken. Each player represents a rival survivor faction and shares two objectives, herd as much zombie livestock as possible to enemy barnyards and recruit survivors to your faction. At games end the faction with the most survivors wins.

All you need is this beautifully illustrated book and deck of cards to hunt with a pod of orcas, forage for tasty mushrooms, brave the swift rivers of the salmon run, and more. Created and illustrated by Pacific Northwest locals as an ode to card games and the beauty of the PNW, these six games are a great way to dive into a world of fast and fun games with a familiar set of components. Games include: Forage (Set collection, 2-6 players), Trail (Drafting, 3-4 players), Orca Isles (Worker placement, 3-6 players), Salmon Run (Deck building, 2 players), Signal Fire (Team trick taking, 4 players), Cabin by the Sea (Solitaire, 1 player).

A rules-lite RPG set in a world of elemental crystals, magic mushrooms, and humans with a magical elemental mycelial network integrated in their bodies. You'll play as a party from The Order of Mycology, sent to a local farm to investigate an invasive shadow monster that everyone thought was extinct. It's a great two-session one shot or the perfect RPG for new players/GMs!

Overview of Event: One hour to make a game with your team! Then 45 minutes to play and judge games with a finale of 15-20 minutes of prizing, mingling, and networking!

The Black Death is coming! Take on the role of rival apothecary shop owners from the renaissance period in Apothecary: Plague Doctors. In this 2-4 player card game you’ll draft ingredients and actions to help you complete orders, hinder your opponents, and distract the guards (if you’re planning on selling some poison on the side, of course). The player with the highest combined value of orders at the end of the game wins and just might survive the plague.

In this 1-5 player tabletop game, based on the smash hit Dynamite Entertainment comic series from Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, players take on the role of a newly activated CIA agent, unfairly tasked with recruiting the most powerful team they can to take down the biggest threat the world has ever known, Homelander. Connect and recruit your favorite and most-despised characters from the award-winning comic series, the source material for the number 1 rated Amazon show, The Boys. Fans will be given their own stash of Compound V, money and contacts to help them in their mission to take down Homelander, but be warned, he fights back each round of play.

Visit the Petrovic Family Circus for the 100th birthday of the famed fortune-telling twins, where you will play as a suspect over 2 hours of mystery and intrigue to figure out whodunnit!. Not everything looks like it will be fun and games though; rumor has it, not everyone is happy with the current ringmaster and there are whispers of impossible feats taking place outside of the tents. And what of the gossip the circus is peddling something more than entertainment? Discover friends and rivals while bribing and blackmailing other con attendees to find clues and gather information to solve the crime! Doctor Who and the Tomb of Sutek

Game play: 2-3 Hours
Description: The 7th Doctor and Ace Tardis lands on a planet with pyramids and relics resembling shrines from the Pharaohs of Ancient Egypt. The local inhabitants you meet speak of evil and sorcery being inflicted on their people and some even being turned into Mummies at the Pyramid of Isis. The Doctor assemblies search parties to scour the area to locate any clues of what might be happening and what the can find out. Do you join the Doctor on his search or are you a minion of Sutek protecting him and his evil plan for world domination? Those who enjoy light role playing and the desire to have fun with no experience are very welcome.

The Alexandria RPG Library will have hundreds of source books and modules from scores of tabletop RPG systems, available for you to browse through, or to use to run a session. They will be coordinating GMs to be on hand to introduce you to some of the greatest role-playing games of the past 40 years.

Let’s head to Level 3 of the Summit Building this weekend for some epic TCG (Trading Card Game) action! Whether you're into the intricate lore of Lorcana, the nostalgia of Pokémon, the fantasy realm of Wrymspan, or the strategic depth of Magic, there's something for every TCG enthusiast.

Star Wars: Unlimited

Star Wars: Unlimited is a brand-new Star Wars card game that features iconic heroes, villains, ships, and settings, in a fast-paced, dynamic game that is both easy to learn and strategically deep. At ECCC, fans will be the first to play Star Wars: Unlimited on Thursday, February 29, before its global release March 8th!

Wyrmspan

Launching at retailers worldwide in late March, Wyrmspan is the follow-up game to the popular board game Wingspan.  In this new version, players can build a sanctuary for dragons of all shapes and sizes, and fans will have the first chance to purchase the game directly at ECCC.

Both Star Wars: Unlimited and Wyrmspan will be available for purchase at Zulu’s Board Game Cafe’s booth on Level 3 of the Summit building.
